Two coats of Quick Prep Primer effectively block tough stains and odours, including:

How to Use – Quick Prep Primer

  1. Surface preparation
Clean the surface thoroughly using Artisan Easy Scrub. Ensure the surface is clean, dry and free from grease, wax and dust.

  2. Glossy surfaces
Lightly scuff sand glossy or lacquered surfaces to remove shine and improve adhesion.

  3. Apply primer
Apply Quick Prep Primer using a synthetic brush, short nap microfibre roller or spray gun.

  4. Drying time
Allow to dry for 1 hour, then apply a second coat.

  5. Second coat
Allow the second coat to dry for a further 1 hour before painting with Artisan Paint.

Quick Prep Primer also evens out surface porosity, ensuring repairs and patched areas become invisible under paint.

For highly tannin-rich timbers such as raw antique oak, an additional coat may be required, or apply a sandwich coat of Artisan Poly Varnish to fully lock in tannins.
